Our next trade fair: The excav team will be exhibiting at NordBau 2025 – the most important construction trade fair in Northern Europe and the Baltics – in Neumünster, Schleswig-Holstein, from September 10 to 14, 2025, together with our commission agent, Theis Feinwerktechnik GmbH. EXCAV RECEIVES BRONZE IN THE 2025 BUILDING OUTSIDE THE BOX AWARD!
Award ceremony and winners’ ceremony on July 17, 2025 in Munich
The excav team received third place in the 2025 “Building Outside The Box” Innovation and Young Talent Award from the Bavarian Chamber of Civil Engineers for its mobile 3D GNSS assistance system! The expert jury and the audience shortlisted six candidates and selected three finalists for the 2025 Building Outside The Box Award, which also includes prize money. Each participant and each team was able to pitch their innovation for the construction industry in a five-minute presentation on stage. Our founders Emanuel Sizmann and Florian Heiß represented excav.

EXCAV NOMINATED FOR THE BUILDING OUTSIDE THE BOX AWARD 2025
The award ceremony will take place on 17 July 2025 in Munich
excav, with its mobile 3D GNSS assistance system, has been nominated for the Bavarian Chamber of Civil Engineers’ 2025 “Building Outside The Box” Innovation and Young Talent Award! With the Building Outside The Box Award, the Chamber of Civil Engineers aims to promote the ecological and digital transformation of the construction industry. The jury selected a total of six candidates for the 2025 Building Outside The Box Award from the numerous submissions from industry and research.

EXCAV EXHIBITS FOR THE FIRST TIME AT DEMOPARK 2025 IN THURINGIA
Visit and exhibition from 22 to 24 June 2025 in Thuringia
The excav team attended demopark 2025 for the first time in Hörselberg, Thuringia, in central Germany – a comprehensive outdoor trade fair at Kindel Airfield for new products in the areas of gardening, landscaping, park and lawn care, municipal technology, and much more. Our excav PILOT was one of the few award-winning new products at demopark 2025. Our team received a silver medal on the first day of the trade fair.

EXCAV WINS THE DEMOPARK 2025 SILVER MEDAL FOR INNOVATION
The winners will be awarded their prizes on 22 June 2025 in Thuringia
Our contribution – the mobile 3D GNSS assistance system excav PILOT – won a silver medal for innovative products in the green sector in the demopark 2025 innovation competition! The official announcement of all gold and silver medal winners took place on April 28, 2025, in Darmstadt. The upcoming awards ceremony will take place on Sunday, June 22, 2025, the first day of the event, in the central campus area at demopark 2025 in Hörselberg, a small town located in Thuringia.

EXHIBITING AT THE CONSTRUCTION FAIR BAUMA 2025 IN MUNICH
Visit and exhibition from 7 to 13 April 2025 in Munich
The famous and highly anticipated bauma, the world’s most important trade fair for the construction and mining industries, takes place only every three years at the Munich Exhibition Center. We were there for five days as a startup exhibitor in the Innovation Hall for startups and science projects and were able to convince visitors from all over the world of our first mobile 3D-GNSS assistance system – excav PILOT.

ONE WEEK AS EXHIBITOR AT THE CONSTRUCTION TRADE FAIR BAU2025
Visit and exhibition from 13 to 17 January 2025 in Munich
BAU, the world’s most important trade fair for architecture, materials, and systems, takes place every two years. We were there the entire week and were able to convince numerous visitors of the concept of our mobile GNSS assistance system for construction machinery – excav PILOT.

EXCAV WAS A EXHIBITOR AT THE BAU INNOVATIV SYMPOSIUM IN 2024
Visit and exhibition on November 7, 2024 in Fürstenfeldbruck
Approximately 140 experts from business, research, and politics took advantage of the opportunity to exchange ideas on key topics in the construction industry at the Bau Innovativ Symposium in Fürstenfeld-bruck. We were also given a short presentation and were present as an exhibitor throughout the symposium. Bavarian Deputy Minister-President Hubert Aiwanger certainly liked our excav PILOT during a chance visit us.

OUR FIRST MAJOR TRADE FAIR! EXCAV AT GALABAU 2024 FOR THE FIRST TIME
Visit and exhibition from 11 to 14 September 2024 in Nuremberg
At GalaBau, the leading international trade fair for gardening and landscaping, we found exactly our target audience. The response from visitors was very positive and made us even more confident that our excav PILOT brings significant added value to construction sites and, thanks to its simplicity and low price, is also especially attractive to medium and small sized horticulture and landscaping companies.

WINNER OF THE BAYSTARTUP BUSINESS PLAN COMPETITION

We were also recognized as the winning team in the third and final phase of the BayStartUp business plan competition. This placed us among the most promising teams in all three phases. Our thanks go to the BayStart-Up initiative for the excellent organization of the start-up business plan competition and also to the judges for their valuable feedback, which helped us to rapidly develop further our innovative construction solution.

OUR ACCEPTANCE INTO THE ESA BIC BAVARIA FUNDING PROGRAMME

Because we’re working on a GNSS solution with our excav PILOT, we were able to successfully apply for the ESA BIC funding program. Over the next two years, excav will receive financial support from ESA and the Free State of Bavaria. In addition, we receive valuable technical and business support for our business model from the renowned Fraunhofer Institute.

EXCAV WAS AN EXHIBITOR AT THE COREUM 2024 NEAR FRANKFURT!

At the Coreum trade fair near Frankfurt, companies from the construction and related industries meet annually to exchange knowledge. Due to our award as part of the VDBUM sponsorship prize, we were invited to exhibit this year and presented our GNSS assistance system – excav PILOT.

WINNER OF 2024!

In the “Developments from Universities and Colleges” category, we, in collaboration with Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU), won first place at the VDBUM 2024 Award for our assistance system for excavators excav PILOT. The jury was particularly impressed by its practical relevance to the established construction industry.
