The famous bauma, the world’s most important trade fair for the construction and mining industries, takes place only every three years at the Munich Exhibition Center. We were there for five days as a start-up exhibitor in the Innovation Hall and were able to impress visitors from all over the world with our mobile GNSS assistance system, excav PILOT.

BAU, the world’s leading trade fair for architecture, materials, and systems, takes place every two years. We were there the week and were able to impress visitors with our GNSS assistance system, excav PILOT.

Approximately 140 experts from business, research, and politics took advantage of the opportunity to exchange ideas on key topics in the construction industry at the Bau Innovativ Symposium in Fürstenfeldbruck. We were also given a short presentation and were present as an exhibitor throughout the symposium.

At GalaBau, the leading international trade fair for gardening and landscaping, we found exactly our target audience among the visitors. The response was very positive and made us even more confident that the excav PILOT brings significant added value to construction sites and, due to its simplicity and low price, is also attractive to smaller landscaping companies.

We were also recognized as the winning team in the third and final phase of the BayStartUp business plan competition. This placed us among the most promising teams in all three phases. Our thanks go to BayStartUp for the excellent organization of this competition and also to the judges for their valuable feedback.

The BayStartUp business plan competition entered its second round. excav impressed the judges again in Phase 2, taking third place. We’re motivated for the final phase.

Because we use GNSS in our excav PILOT, we were able to successfully apply for the ESA BIC funding program. Over the next two years, excav will receive financial support from ESA and the Free State of Bavaria. We also receive valuable technical and business support from the Fraunhofer Institute.

In Phase 1 of the BayStartUP Business Plan Competition, we were among the ten most promising startups in the Northern Bavaria region and were honored as an award winner. We’re looking forward to Phase 2.

Entrepreneurs from the construction and related industries meet annually at the Coreum near Frankfurt to exchange ideas and technologies. Due to our award as part of the VDBUM sponsorship prize, we were invited to exhibit this year and presented our excav PILOT.  

In the “Developments from Universities and Colleges” category, we, in collaboration with Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU), won first place at the VDBUM 2024 Award for our excav PILOT assistance system. The jury was particularly impressed by its practical relevance.
